The use and governance of natural resources lies at the core of today’s most pressing challenges – from the triple planetary crisis to social inequality and economic development. The way we use natural resources impacts not only global sustainability but also the fairness and resilience of societies worldwide. To tackle these complex, interdependent issues, innovative and inclusive strategies are urgently needed.
WRF25 convenes global leaders from policy, industry, science and civil society to assess and refine strategies for resource governance and management. The conference will facilitate the exchange of knowledge across regions and stakeholders, exploring how successful approaches can be adapted or scaled globally. A solutions-oriented dialogue aimed at creating resource strategies that support both global goals and local realities.
The World Resources Forum 2025 Insights Report presents key outcomes from WRF25, held on 2–3 September 2025 in Geneva and online.
Bringing together voices from governments, science, industry, finance, and international organisations, the report explores strategies to govern, finance, and scale resource transitions for a fair and sustainable future. It highlights practical solutions across the extractive sector, the built environment, and consumer and industrial goods, underscoring the importance of multilateral cooperation, transparent governance, and scalable innovation in times of global uncertainty.
With a dynamic hybrid programme featuring both in-person sessions in Geneva and online discussions, we aim to ensure meaningful collaborations and global participation.
